01What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website you visit. They are widely used to make websites function, to remember preferences, and to collect analytics. Related technologies include browser local storage, which some browsers and applications use to persist small pieces of information on your device without necessarily sending that information back to a server on every request.

02Categories We Use

• Strictly necessary cookies: required for core functionality, such as maintaining an authenticated staff session on our internal case management dashboard. These cannot be disabled without breaking that functionality, and they are not set for general visitors browsing the public site.
• Functional cookies: used to remember a language preference (English or Arabic) that you have explicitly selected via the language switcher, so that we do not repeatedly prompt you to choose a locale.
• Analytics and performance: Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, described further below.

We do not currently use advertising or marketing cookies, third-party tracking pixels (such as a Meta Pixel or LinkedIn Insight Tag), or cross-site behavioral advertising technology on the Website. If this changes in the future, we will update this Policy and, where legally required, implement an appropriate consent mechanism before any such technology is activated.

03Specific Cookies and Storage in Use

• epi_locale — set only when you use the language switcher to explicitly choose English or Arabic; remembers that choice for one year so the Website loads in your preferred language on return visits.
• epi_staff_session — an httpOnly, server-issued session identifier used solely to authenticate authorized Epiidosis staff to the internal case management dashboard. It is never set for visitors browsing the public website and cannot be read by client-side scripts.
• epi_internal_theme — browser local storage (not a cookie) used only within the staff-facing internal dashboard to remember a staff member's light/dark theme preference on their own device. It is never transmitted to our servers.

04Analytics: Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate visitor traffic (such as page views and referring pages) and Vercel Speed Insights to measure website performance (such as load times). Both are designed by their provider to operate without setting tracking cookies and without maintaining persistent cross-site identifiers tied to an individual visitor; they report aggregated, privacy-conscious metrics rather than building an individual browsing profile of you across other websites.

05Third-Party Embeds

Where the Website links out to third-party services — for example, a mapping service or an external resource — that destination is operated independently of Epiidosis and may set its own cookies once you navigate to it. This Policy does not cover those third-party cookies; please refer to the relevant third party's own cookie or privacy policy.

06Managing Cookies

Most browsers allow you to view, manage, delete, and block cookies through their settings. Because we do not use non-essential tracking cookies for general visitors, blocking cookies in your browser should not materially affect your ability to browse the public Website; however, it may prevent your language preference from being remembered, and it will prevent staff members from being able to authenticate to the internal dashboard.

07Updates to This Policy

We may update this Policy if the cookies, analytics tools, or tracking technology we use change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the date of the last revision. Material additions of new tracking or advertising technology will be reflected here, with a consent mechanism implemented where legally required.
